Milos Riff Continued

“Are you sure, you guys aren't hiding anything from us?”
“Yeah, mom we’re sure”

Then, she walked into the kitchen to make coffee. Jake takes the other part of me away from Emma towards the kitchen. Apparently Jake thought twice and went to tell his mom.

“Hey mom, I have something to tell you that is a hard to say.”
Jake’s mom has that look on her face that I saw in the music store when there were unsatisfied customers.
“Ya?”
“Mom…um…umm…”
“What Jake? It’s okay. You can tell me anything.”
“Okay here it goes, Emma and I sorta broke the new guitar.”
“I new that there was something” says his mom.
“You could’ve just told me straight when we were in the living room.”
“Emma, could you come into the kitchen please?”
“Ok mom.” says Emma
“And I am sorry that I didn’t want to play the guitar. It’s just that, dad and you are really good and I was just afraid to play in front of you guys. I was worried I would make my self look like a fool.” says Jake
“Are you mad at us?” Jake says
“I am a little disappointed in both of you”
“How come?” asked Emma
“Because you both told a white lie to me.”
“You could’ve just told me the truth right then.”
“Why don’t we take the guitar to the music shop.”

After they all got ready to go, we went to the music shop to get me fixed. Ironically, it was the same shop where they bought me. Once we parked and went in with Emma and Jake carrying each part of me, into the store. Jake’s mom talks to the employee about me and he says, it would be about 3 hours to get me fixed. Their mom says, ok.

3 hours pass

I feel so much better. I feel so strong. I was even tuned! Someone actually played me for longer than just a note. Then I see Emma and Jake, and both were smiling from ear to ear. They did some paper work and then we left.
Once we got home, Jake told his parents that at first he didn’t want to sign up for lessons because he didn’t want his parents to think that he couldn’t play, but after he said that, he said that he did want to sign up for lessons so that he can learn to play like his dad. They hugged, blah blah blah, all of that mushy, gushy stuff then Jake came and picked me up. He played a really awesome note on me! I was like WOW! Emma heard it and came right into the room. He is a natural! He had nothing to be afraid of.
